Loro Parque on Tenerife

Loro Parque is located right next to Puerto de la Cruz on Tenerife, and is a great zoo with a large number of attractions for both youngsters and older people. The park is the most visited of the Canary Islands, and people are also traveling to the park from the other islands when they are on holiday, to experience all that the park has to offer. Loro Park is not just a zoo, but also an amusement park with several shows each day that includes parrots, dolphins, sea lions and killer whales.

Loro Park has a large planetaruim for penguins, an area for gorillas, a huge botanical garden, perhaps the world's largest collection of different parrots, chimpanzees, tigers, a special section for pelicans, many exotic orchids, crocodiles, turtles from the Galapagos Islands and a huge aquarium with sharks, to name some of the great things you can see here.

Puerto de la Cruz, the city that is home to Loro Parque, is located northwest of Tenerife. Approximately a 20 minutes drive from the capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and just over half an hour from the south side of the island, with areas such as Playa de las Americas, Los Christianos and Los Gigantes.

There are many restaurants, cafes, kiosks and small bars inside the Loro Park. All food and drink of excellent quality. The newest attraction this year is a number of birds of the species Katanda Treetops. These birds are known for a funny song, and is not afraid of visitors and can actually feed the guests sometimes. Loro Park on Tenerife is truly an experience when you take a vacation in the Canary Islands, and you should really visit the park the next time you go on holiday to Tenerife.
